![]() ![]() Overall, I think this set fit those who do not need look "far", and want to be able to record all events and full time video on local SD card (you can hide base box) - without any fee. This is way better than my Blink kept on alarming sun-light through tree/leaves moved by wind. With Alexa Echo Show, it will let you "call" to display live feeds on as many devices you want since Lorex Home App may not let you keep multiple logins.Įach camera works well on detecting anyone moves in front as long as it is not too far, since I don't have a big front entrance plus I have no interest to monitor car/people move on street, so the "near trigger" turns to be a good feature. H t t p s : ///link/portal/57356/57366/Article/3582/2k-qhd-smart-deterrence-camera-frequently-asked-questions I did all setups via WiFi except I had to plug in ethernet cable to make Alexa finds cameras - not sure why.Īlso, was a bit stuck on 1080P until I read the FAQ then figured out how to run/record them at 2560x14x1080: Got it today and setup took more than 30 minutes since I went through all firmware updates to be safe. Or lorex 4k ones with an NVR, whatever floats your boat. The icing on the cake is that AFAIK the cameras won't work without it, and you can't use it as your 2.4 GHz WiFi AP either, if it did that I wouldn't be whining about Arlo and how it annoys me. WHY do you do that for fudges sake‽ And if that wasn't enough, IT DOES SO AT 40 MHZ BANDWIDTH! So you're just messing up the whole block's WiFi and BT performance and you end up stuffing that ugly white box in a cupboard to try and tame it somewhat, which does helps a little. This thing is like the highest power access point I've ever seen I think, and when it boots up for some reason it scans the spectrum as usual, AND THEN IT SELECTS THE SAME BAND AS YOUR HOME WIFI! In a somewhat denser urban area, their stupid glorified access point - with as far as I can tell no way to configure ANYTHING is the perfect way to make sure that your already busy and overcrowded 2.4 GHz band gets jammed as much as possible. gear in general, this seems to apply here) ![]() (I've been told to stay away from netgear. The problem with Arlo is that it also sucks. What really sucks is now I am stuck with this lorex doorbell I am not crazy about and the one thing I was trying to avoid is subscription fee but now since I will have to get ones anyways, I might as well gotten the arlo doorbell as wel as the subscription fee covers all devices. I was really hoping that Lorex would work well as it had no subscription and even though I can use Arlo for free without a subscription you lose alot of features so I probably will end up having to pay for a subscription what sucks. In the end returned it and got Arlo (as this is what costco was selling at the time), put the camera in the exact same spot and never had once a problem with it. ![]() Which I did and did not help, then I talked to them again after it did not work and they told me oh no, you cannot use a wifi extender with the cameras. One told me to move the internet closer to it or buy a wifi extender. Support seemed to be all from the Philippines and was not that great. I bought it because of the no subscriptions and plus I bought from Costco the 2 cameras plus the hub station and one camera kept losing connection constantly and had no clue why as they did not even show you wifi strength to the camera. I bought the dorobell (wired version) and I find it slow to send me the ringing notification and overall, not that great. I don't have these but I am not really impressed by Lorex. Lots of cameras get rma'ed like there's no tomorrow. Generic Chinese cameras with lorex logo on them. ![]()
